Tai Chi and the Spa

For some time I seriously investigated whether tai chi can be combined with a visit to a spa as a way to alleviate problems, reducing stress. More useful, more profitable, making the experience of spa.

Dr. Bruce Lipton, a cell biologist and a former researcher at Stanford University School of Medicine, an estimated 95 per cent of the causes of diseases are created by stress. Moving cells from growing in self-protection mode during stress and this makes them vulnerable to diseases. Our past experiences, our health and our environment can bring stress. We need to reduce stress, which is something that the spa is probably better than anything else. But what if it is combined with simple tai chi, which is itself a famous stress relief?

As I looked into it I found most spas are combining tai chi with spa treatment, especially in the case of osteo-arthritis, but also for General joint stiffness.

Will my case as an example. I have osteo-arthritis in both of my hands so that my knuckles are swollen and my hands, sometimes extremely painful. Can’t close both hands in a fist and have difficulty in managing small objects. There is no medical cure for this, although it has been suggested that taking Glucosamine may help relieve symptoms.

I get much better, much more long-lasting relief from a brief warm-up session for the tai chi exercises.

The simplest form of tai chi involves heating these exercises. It is not tiring, it is not difficult to understand, not too difficult to follow. If I can learn from a video so anyone can.

Basically what you are doing is getting the blood flowing through your body. Using these exercises – make a series of five which takes me about 15 minutes-my hands Tingle and overheat. And the pain stops. It doesn’t matter in any way what Tai Chi school you follow. Yang is the most popular style practiced in the West, although there are at least five major schools or more.

What matters is that the exercise was smooth, fluid, gentle, easy to follow, and gets the blood moves around the veins.

If you search for tai chi you realize that what I wrote, is a very simple way to describe what happens.

Chinese medical theory, apparently, it works on the grounds that vital energy (qi or chi) moves through the body in channels or meridians.

If you want to be in good health, you want an unimpeded flow of qi.

With tai chi and qigong sweeter, more philosophical-energy, the strength of life, the qi, is strengthened and balanced and flows smoothly through the channels of the body.

There is no doubt that tai chi and Qi Gong will leave refreshed and calm, and this is the State that you want to be to get the best out of the spa experience. There is an additional advantage because the heat and flexing of the body.

Body heat is a complex issue. Doing controlled exercise before a Spa will raise the core body heat.

Make a simple example.

If you are running for, say, half an hour you raise the internal temperature of your body and you can take up to an hour for that heat to dissipate. Carefully note that this is very different from surface that feels heat in a sauna. They are both valuable, both lead to a healthier body, but they are different in the way in which they operate.

Doing gentle tai chi exercises before taking a spa is raising the internal temperature.

How you do it depends on you. Through the testing of a remarkable I found that approximately fifteen to twenty minutes of tai chi warm-up exercises-basically just a simple swing arm with no complex movements-raises my internal body temperature so that I seem to get greater value for a spa.

If you join a tai chi spa all to alleviate the pain in my hands and this result I lasts for days. Maybe even four.

Watching this idea that I came across a DVD, ‘ a day at the Spa, Tai-Chi “, which takes this idea and teaches viewers about the basic methods of Tai Chi. seems to be available on the Internet in many places, including Amazon. I haven’t seen it, but judging from the title, takes the idea one step further.

I think that perhaps we are moving towards a time when most of the baths offer simple tai chi before the actual spa to relax and warm the body and mind.

Mine is a lifetime experience, but there is enough evidence to indicate that an application has far wider. Add a little tai chi to your spa and see if you double the pleasure, improves the effect, gives a double value for your money.
